My first experience with data analysis was more of a realization of how important it is for a business to be able to process data properly, and thus, be able to analyze it for decision-making that guides the company’s direction. It was my second business venture, where I was in charge of the Admin Department I was responsible for collecting and organizing data on new customer sign-ups for Telecom companies… and everything was done on paper!
I learned the importance of organized data collection in a tidy, itemized, and classified way. I was also a participant in the transition to digital of large amounts of data.
In subsequent experiences, both working for others and in my own projects, I have seen how data plays a fundamental role in any activity that is carried out and that is wanted to be improved.
My current position in a Data Consultancy is a mix between customer relationships and data analysis so I can see first hand how data driven decisions affect a company and its direction.
In conclusion, from what I have learned about artificial intelligence and machine learning models, with which any business can be able to make more beneficial decisions and be guided by information that would otherwise be limited to the knowledge of very few, I have come to the conclusion that:
Data is the new gold and AI is the new philosopher’s stone.
